Life Hacks: How To Pack Properly For Your Holiday ♥
Sunday, August 07, 2016
Hi everyone!
As you are reading this I am currently in Dubai on holiday so I thought that I would do a little post for you all about packing properly, which I know sounds quite obvious but you'd be surprised how many people don't take enough clothes or take a lot of things that they don't actually end up using.
1. Make sure that you have the right size suitcase for your holiday e.g. if you're going on holiday for two days you will only need a small suitcase but if it is a two week holiday you'll probably need a large one.
2. Check before your flight the weight restrictions for your suitcase as this will save a lot of time and hassle when you're at the airport check in desk. All airlines have certain weight restrictions so make sure you check the restrictions for whatever airline you are flying with. You can buy little scale type things that you put on to the handle of your suitcase to see how much it weighs and the best thing is, they are only a couple of pounds and they are life savers in my opinion.
3. Make sure you pack clothes that are appropriate to where you're going e.g. don't pack a big woolly jumper if you're going to a country that is boiling hot as you just won't wear it and it will take up a big part of your suitcase.
4. When you are packing your suitcase lay your clothes out and decide what you will possibly be wearing each night (obviously you don't have to stick to it but it is great to get a rough idea and lay an outfit out for each night instead of going to get dressed and realising that nothing actually goes together).
5. Consider what parts of your outfit you can wear more than once as this will again, save a lot of space for other things in your suitcase.
6. Always take more underwear than what you need, my mum has always said this since I was a little kid and I definitely think it is a great idea as you never know if your flight will get delayed or you'll get an unexpected surprise whilst you're out on holiday (girls you know what I'm talking about).
7. Take a spare outfit in your hand luggage. This is a great idea because you never know what will happen - your flight may get delayed or even worse, your luggage may not turn up.
8. If you're going with your family and you're taking more than one suitcase pack some of your stuff in another suitcase, this means that if worst comes to worst and your suitcase doesn't turn up at least you were prepared and have a few outfits.
9. Take something to keep you entertained on holiday. I always take lots of entertainment as I don't always want to be in the sun... I usually take a book and any electronics that I can listen to music or watch films on.
If you have any other hacks that I haven't thought of feel free to leave them in the comments below!
